Sheikh Omar Muhammad Abd al-Rahman Tahan al-Halabi (1950-) is an imam, preacher, and former director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, head of the Preaching and Guidance Department in the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, founder of the Jerusalem Zakat Committee, and founder of Dar Al-Qur’an and Hadith and Dar Al-Fiqh Al-Islami, responsible for imams, preachers, muezzins, and teachers in Al-Aqsa Mosque blessed.

Sheikh Omar was eager in the Arabic language, fluent in Poetry, literature and writing, and despite his youth, he used to go out to preach in many mosques, and in the year 1973 AD he took over the leadership of the Musab bin Omair Mosque in Al-Ram, and at that time the Ramadan war (Syria and Egypt against Israel), then he moved to the Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque on the recommendation of Sheikh Hilmi Al-Muhtasib. He participated in the preparation of several basic regulations for committees and associations, including the Muslim Youth Association, the Shrouding Committee for the Dead, the Jerusalem Band for Religious Songs and Prophetic Praises, the Committee for the Care of Islamic Cemeteries Affairs, the Guest House Association, the Islamic Awareness Committee, the Marriage Committee, the Scholars and Preachers Association, Jerusalem/Palestine, and others. One of the founders of Dar Al-Hadith Al-Sharif in Al-Aqsa Mosque and its supervisors from 1984-1987 AD, and a lecturer in it to this day.
He founded and supervised Dar Al-Fiqh Al-Islami since 2007 AD until now, and is a lecturer in it.
One of the founders of the Beit Al-Maqdis Ensemble for Religious Songs and Prophetic Praises in 1997 AD, and responsible for media and culture in it. He also wrote for it many religious and patriotic poems that are chanted to this day. He also loved the city of Jerusalem and the martyred city of Aleppo and wrote several beautiful poems for it.
Member of the Steering Committee of the Departments in the Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, which is responsible for examining muezzins and taking charge of the endowment since 1994 AD until now.
He worked as a legal official at the Raghadan Sharia Court and the Northern Marka Court in Amman from 1980-1983 AD, and he is still a legal official at the Jerusalem Parish Court from 1984 AD until now.
