Palestinian Rasheed Nashashibi is one of the Middle East’s most promising young drivers.

“I love anything with wheels. I am a big motorhead and since I was a little kid I fell in love with cars. The looks, the music and the adrenalin rush all spark my interest.

Born in 1984, Rasheed’s talent was evident in karting, the tough school for those seeking to make their way in motorsport. Representing Kingston University across the UK, several races were won and he was fourth out of 50 drivers in the British Universities Karting Championship in 2006. He also won the Palestinian championship that year. In 2008 Rasheed began coaching young Palestinians interested in go-karting and he has helped them to succeed competing in championships against more experienced drivers. With his friends, he established the Pal Racing club which holds autocross, karting and driving lessons for free to encourage grassroots enthusiasm for motorsport. Rasheed and friend Wassim Razzouk own a garage and shop in Ramallah which tunes and builds cars.

During the week Rasheed works in the family business, the Golden Walls Hotel in Jerusalem. He fits in that work while gaining crucial testing and racing experience at circuits across the Middle East and the world. Since gaining his National B Licence at Silverstone in 2007, Rasheed has rallied Subaru cars in Group N, raced a KTM X Bow for Palestinian team Sayel Racing in the UAE GT championship and driven Formula Ford in the Thunder Arabia championship. As his racing CV (insert link to CV page) shows, Rasheed is a force to be reckoned with as a competitive all-rounder who can adapt and succeed in different international racing categories. His success has meant Rasheed has been interviewed by TV networks, online media and newspapers in the Arabic and English language.
