John Henry Sununu is an American politician who served as Governor of the American state of New Hampshire from 1983-1989. He was born in 1939 to a Palestinian immigrant family in the Cuban city of Havana, then worked as a senior White House staffer during the era of President George W. Bush. He was famous for being the only US state governor that did not reject United Nations Resolution 3379, which described Zionism as racism, and he was also famous for his sharp political views, which eventually made President Bush Sr. abandon him after Sununu worked with him for three years in the White House. Sununu holds a Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has eight children, including Senator John Edward Sununu.
