Lamis Al-Alami is a well-known Jerusalemite who has held several positions in the field of education and citizen rights, the most important of which is the Director of Al-Tira College in Ramallah and the Director of the Education Sector at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. She was entrusted with the Palestinian Education and Higher Education portfolio in the Fayyad government, which did not gain the confidence of the Legislative Council and has no legal legitimacy since 2007. She held this position until 6-2013, when a new government was formed and Ali Abu Zuhri was appointed Minister of Education and Higher Education.
