Saadi Mahmoud Suleiman Al-Karnaz (born in Al-Bureij refugee camp on August 18, 1958) is a Palestinian academic, politician and leader in the Fatah movement. He was a member of the Palestinian negotiating team with the Israelis, and held ministerial portfolios and high positions in the Palestinian Authority. He is a member of the Palestinian National Council, and a lecturer at Al-Quds University / Abu Dis.

His upbringing and education
He was born in the Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian family that was displaced from the village of Fallujah in the Nakba in 1948. He studied mathematics at Mansoura University in Egypt, from which he graduated in 1981, and worked as a lecturer in mathematics at the Islamic University in Gaza City until 1983. In 1986 he obtained a certificate Master's degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. He also received a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from Purdue University in Arizona, USA.

His academic biography
He returned to Palestine to head the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Palestinian Al-Azhar University until 1991, when he held the Deanship of Student Affairs until 1996, and in the years 1992 to 1996 he was Deputy Dean of the College of Science in it. In the years 2008 to 2014, he was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Security Academy in Jericho (Al-Istiklal University), and since 2012 he has been a lecturer at Al-Quds University, its vice president and budget officer.

Al-Karnez is a member of the Palestinian National Council. He was elected to the Legislative Council in 1996, where she explains about the Fatah movement in the Deir al-Balah governorate district. He assumed the position of Chairman of the Budget and Financial Affairs Committee in the Shari'a Council in the years 1996-1998 and 2002-2006, and was also a member of the Economic Committee and the Natural Resources Committee of the Council.

In the years 2006-2014, he chaired the board of directors of the Palestinian Retirement Authority. He was also an advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas from 2006 to 2010.

In 2008, he was a member of the Palestinian Negotiations Committee in 2008, which was formed under the chairmanship of Ahmed Qurei and the membership of Saeb Erekat, Yasser Abed Rabbo and Saadi Karnaz.

He was one of the representatives of the Fatah movement in the dialogue committee between parties and political forces in the file of Palestinian reconciliation in Cairo in 2011.
