A Palestinian director who was born in Yafa, emigrated with her family to Beirut during al-Nakba (1948); studied at the French Press Institute; received her PhD in Media Science from the University of Paris II; worked as a journalist and producer at the French Radio and Television Broadcasting in Beirut. Mareiz lived between Paris and Beirut.

"The land speaks Arbabic", 2007.

Her film "The land speaks Arabic" won three prizes in 2008.
