Information
Omar Al-Najjar is an Assistant Professor in Written and Oral Translation. He currently serves as the Head of the English Language and Literature Department and coordinates the Master's program in Written and Oral Translation. He joined the College of Science and Technology in 1986 before the establishment of the University of Jerusalem, where he worked as a lecturer in teaching English for Science and Technology and as a language editor for researchers in the college.
Dr. Omar holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and a Diploma in Teaching English for Secondary Schools from Bethlehem University in 1984. He earned a Master's degree in Written and Oral Translation from the University of Salford, UK, in 1985. He also completed a postgraduate diploma in specialized simultaneous interpretation in Scottish law from the Institute of Linguists in London, UK, in 2002. In 2006, he obtained his Ph.D. in translator training from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
Dr. Omar has taught written and oral translation at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland to Master's students while working on his doctoral thesis.
