Born in Jaffa (Yafa) in 1936; when al-Nakba occurred he moved with his family and he stayed with his uncle in Lattakia - Syria; worked as a teacher when he was 14 years old; studied History in 1959 in Damascus University; then he moved to Libya; worked in media and press; obtained an MA from Libya, PhD in literature (History department) from Cairo University in 1969; contributed in establishing the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO); member of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Egypt and Syria; died in Egypt in 29/Dec/2003.
