Information

Nuha Zorob Kawar (1936-) is a Palestinian writer, poet and historian. She was born in the city of Nazareth on March 18, 1936. She is married to Bahjat Kawar, and she has four children.

Nuha was born in the city of Nazareth on March 18, 1936, to her father, Munib Zorob, of Lebanese origin, and her mother, Azza Kawar, the granddaughter of Tannous Kawar, the first mayor of Nazareth. Nuha completed her secondary education at the Baptist School in Nazareth, and obtained a general certificate in Arabic, Hebrew and English languages from the University of London. She also studied screenwriting and dialogue for the story, and obtained a bachelor's degree in theology, philosophy and psychology.

Noha wrote in a number of newspapers and magazines at the beginning of her life under the pseudonym “Bint of Nazareth” because of her shame and unwillingness to show her real name in newspapers and on Israeli radio. She also wrote some poems in Hebrew, and a number of her poems were translated into English, and she gave a number of lectures. Inside and outside Palestine, she works in a number of international voluntary organizations.

Noha's name was included in the American Biographical Foundation, where she received the "Golden Record of Achievement" certificate, and in 2002 she received the Creativity Award, and Dutch television filmed a film about her life.
